They assess patients continually to evaluate changes in acuity and physical state, relaying critical information to Physicians or Nurse Practitioners as needed, and making recommendations about transfer to higher levels of care as needed.Places orders to toxicology laboratories, blood analysis laboratories, and pharmaciesReceives and analyzes results from laboratoriesCommunicates laboratory results to a Physician or Nurse PractitionerReceives and stores all orders from the pharmacyTakes and records patient vital signsAssesses patient symptoms regularly, reporting condition changes to a Physician if a change in care plan may be necessaryDispenses medications to patients as neededResponds to medical emergencies and calls Physician for ordersScreens patients upon admission and works with physician to determine whether the patient is appropriate for admissionSupervises patient monitoring station or delegates to other staff as necessaryMonitors on-site narcotics to prevent theft or abuseLeads patient community meetings as necessary in the absence of an available Patient Engagement SpecialistParticipates in Performance Improvement Committee meetings as neededIn the absence of managers, acts as supervisor on duty and ensures that other staff carry out all duties and responsibilities of their positionsAssists with supervising Licensed Practical NursesWorks cooperatively and collaboratively with everyone including employees, management and external agenciesPosition Requirements Qualifications AA or higher in Nursing required and BA/BS or higher preferred Active state Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing License 2+ years of prior experience in psychiatric nursing preferred 2+ years of experience in a managerial role preferred Chemical Dependency Treatment experience preferred Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Certification in First Aid required Be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly preferred Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential Authorization to work in the US is requiredAt Landmark Recovery, we believe diversity is a strength.
