Provides work leadership and serves as a technical resource to staff. Assures staff's competence in all procedures. Ensures quality service and patient care in the department. Performs duties of a CT Technologist. Typical physical demands include finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, and speaking. Constant activities involve reaching above, at, and below shoulder level, as well as repetitive arm and hand motions. Frequent tasks include standing, walking, twisting the body, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying weights of 5 to 30 pounds. May also involve pushing or pulling weights of up to 30 pounds of force and static gripping of an object for prolonged periods. Occasional activities may involve sitting, kneeling, walking on uneven ground, squatting, and climbing stairs. Typical working conditions involve exposure to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including cold temperatures due to air conditioning. There may be exposure to noise and vibration from film processors. Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, mechanical and electrical units, chemicals, and radiation is expected. Minimum qualifications include three years of experience as a CT Technologist. Experience should demonstrate knowledge of CT safety operations and capabilities. Knowledge of quality assurance activities as applied to CT imaging is also required. Prior leadership experience is preferred.
