Job Description
  • Executes the development, maintenance, and implementation of business continuity & crisis management programs that encompasses all businesses and functional areas.
  • Supports and responds to disaster recovery, business continuity and emergency response activities.
  • Develops and maintains standards and procedures for the business continuity and crisis management program.
  • In conjunction with other departments, assists in the development of emergency response procedures, distributes and updates emergency procedures to reflect changes in staff size, location, organization, and facilities.
  • Provides guidance to and manages the efforts of departments in the completion of Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and recovery procedures for key areas of the organization.
  • Develop a communication strategy focused on increasing awareness of the business continuity program.
  • Ensure all documentation is readily available and current for all program participants.
  • Manages reviews of changes in company resources with the management of those areas to assure the effectiveness of recovery procedures and back-up capabilities.
  • Assures that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key resources and for the resumption of critical business processes.
  • Test the written documentation via table top exercises, simulation tests, and full interruption tests.
  • Conduct training for individuals to prepare them for their expected tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by Capital & Business Continuity Manager.

  • Engage in strategic & sustaining capital project selection.
  • Management of business continuity related projects.
  • Support Companywide improvement projects.

Facilities Management:

  • Peer to Peer leadership.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in strategic decision making.

Training and Development:

  • Active learner.
  • Maintain professional certifications.
  • Train management in business continuity and crisis management best practices.
  • Conduct training and exercises.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Support all business areas in the implementation of the Business Continuity Program.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop strategic projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
  • Support company CI projects.
Required/Preferred Education/Training
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in Business, Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, Emergency Management, Information Technology, or Finance required.
  • Must obtain CBCP or CBCI within first year of employment.
  • MBA and CBCP or CBCI preferred.
Required/Preferred Experience
  • 5-8 years relevant experience in Business Continuity, incident management and disaster recovery required.
  • Ability to respond to incidents outside of core business hours required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to interface with management and staff at all levels within the company.
  • Demonstrated management, project coordination and leadership skills required. Strong written, oral communications and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability and willingness to work in and promote a true team environment.
  • Successful experience in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
