Location: 832 Princeton Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211Pay: $36.00 - $42.00Schedule: Monday-Friday, No Holidays - 7am-4pm or 8am-5pmSUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Operates a magnetic resonance imaging and related equipment to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies and injuries as per facility protocol(s).ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals.Explaining the MRI process to patients and ensuring the patients comply with all safety standards; screen patients for MRI safety prior to procedure performance.Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and related equipment and archives imaging data. Explaining the MRI process to patients and ensuring the patients comply with all safety standards.Evaluate MRI scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately.Maintain accurate patient records.Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties.Assist radiologist with procedure performanceBecome cross-trained and competent in CT procedures.Perform injections of contrast media in compliance with existing operating policies and procedures. Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation and certification, knowledge, and permitted by the policies and procedures of Complete Health Medical Associates, and other local, state, and federal guidelines; and the policies of the facility requesting the services.WORKING ENVIRONMENTThe position requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and finger use. Pushing and pulling are occasionally required.
