Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.We are Now Hiring Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN Direct Support Professionals (DSP), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff, Home Health Aides in Rockville, MD to provide person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing person-centered care tailored to meet the needs of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Starting Rate is: $17.70/hourResponsibilitiesProvide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities tailored to their Individual Support Plan (ISP)/Person Centered Plan (PCP)Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygieneMonitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concernsAssist with the learning and development of independent and community-based skillsParticipate with individuals in community, social, and recreational activitiesDrive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the communityEnsure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timelyBuild a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and familiesEnsure work locations and vehicles are clean and well maintained to provide a safe environmentAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedEmployees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred2+ years' experience working in Home Health or Direct Care experience, preferably with individuals with disabilities.Prior experience working with challenging behaviors.Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth/teens.Valid Driver's License.Working ConditionsWork in residential programs, day programs, and in the communityTransport individuals utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehiclesSchedule may change due to business needs and may include evening and weekend hoursOvertime may be required due to business needsMay be required to lift or move 25+ poundsWhy Community Options?
