The Role:
- Follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Inform patients about their exams to their understanding.
- Ensure patient clearance for contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position patients and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact during exams.
- Perform scans according to protocol.
- Administer intravenous contrast.
- Complete all exam-related forms.
- Record patient data accurately.
- Provide and issue films/CDs as appropriate.
- Forward data or films/CDs to Radiologists.
- Assist clerical staff as needed.
- Clean and resupply equipment and rooms.
- Adhere to licensing and credentialing policies.
- Contrast administration as required.
The Skills:
Requires prior MRI scanning experience, MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and excellent interpersonal skills. Additional requirements include:
- Sitting and using a computer for extended periods.
- Assisting patients with mobility difficulties.
- Participation in call schedules at some locations.
- Pushing, pulling, and lifting at least twenty-five pounds.
