Job Title: Accounting Financial Analyst (SG 25)

Requisition Summary

The Accounting Financial Analyst is responsible forsupporting the daily operations and other accounting activities related to engine programs and interacts closely with a variety of departments and personnel throughout PACCAR. This position performs a variety of accounting activities under minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate financial statements and management reporting. This position will be working in a fast-paced environment, analyzing data for management, ensuring PACCAR's Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls programs are completed timely and efficiently, provide month end support and lead change to existing business processes and requirements.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure timely and accurate presentation of financial statements and analytical reports.

  • Perform month-end closing cycle activities for new engine development programs including preparing monthly journal entries, preparing financial statements, and reporting results to management.

  • Provide project cost management services such as cost estimates and invoice analysis.

  • Prepares various management reports, financial comments and provide any key data as requested.

  • Coordinate the forecast process, gathering and assessing data from various sources and managers to compile the forecast of future trends.

  • Participate/assists in projects related to plant accounting processes.

  • Participates in Physical inventory counts, quarterly statistical audits, and cycle counts.

  • Ensures compliance with internal control policies and keeps accounting procedures updated.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to include critique of current business processes and recommend andoperationalize improvements.

  • Lead Sarbanes-Oxley and internal control program: testing and documentationincluding sample selection, support collection, and testing according to PACCAR methodology.

  • Maintains effective oral and written communications, externally and internally.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree required - Accounting degree preferred. CPA/CMA or master's degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years' of progressive accounting experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong collaboration, analytical and accounting skills, attention to details.

  • Strong PC skills including advanced MS Excel (charts, pivot tables, Power Query etc.) and Access skills

  • SAP/ERP system experience desired.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls

  • Strong affinity to continuous improvement and change management

  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in specific deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail with a 'Big picture" focus and drive for continuous improvement

  • Must be a hands-on self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.

  • Ability to influence and work with employees at all levels of the organization.
