We are looking for a talented and experienced DB2 Database Engineer to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the administration, performance tuning, and security of our DB2 databases while ensuring their integrity and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to manage database growth and adapt to changing business needs.
Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to guarantee data availability and integrity.
Work closely with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for enhanced performance.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in DB2 database administration and suggest appropriate adoptions.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience considered).
Over 7 years of experience in DB2 database administration in enterprise settings.
Proficiency in DB2 utilities (Load, Check, Copy, Runstats, Recover, Reorg, etc.).
A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently to support mission-critical operations across diverse locations.
Willingness to be onsite in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, five days a week.
Must participate in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency incidents.
Preferred Qualifications:
IBM Certified Database Administrator certification.

Annual salary ranges from $70,000.00 to $125,000.00, along with a comprehensive benefits package!
