Job Overview: As a Level 2 Product Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting new and aftermarket sales products through your technical and application expertise across the Americas. You will become a trusted resource for our Regional Sales Channels, assisting in product selection, configuration, and application suitability. This position also involves building strong relationships with the technical sales development team, as well as high vacuum, industrial, and service teams. Main Responsibilities: Provide product installation support, startup assistance, and qualifications at customer sites during the testing phase. Conduct training sessions for customers (both in-house and offsite) on the proper application of Leybold products. Equip Leybold sales channels and sales support staff with knowledge on selecting Leybold products for various process applications. Offer consultation, application, and technical support for product-related inquiries. Recommend vacuum equipment tailored to known applications. Prepare and deliver engaging product presentations. Collect relevant data and perform vacuum calculations (e.g., suction speed, pump-down curves) as well as related calculations (e.g., power consumption, noise emission, cost of ownership) using appropriate tools. Enhance your understanding of Leybold products and their application across different market segments. Document new application insights and experiences in the Knowledge Warehouse. Assist regional marketing with the launch of new products. Responsible for entering customer complaints into the Leybold Customer Complaint Management (CCM) system and support regional warranty claim decisions. Other duties as assigned. Job Scope: Domestic geographical scope. Engagement with internal and external stakeholders significantly influences this role. Work patterns will involve planning, prioritizing, and coordinating activities effectively. Although this role does not currently have direct reports, collaboration with various functions is essential. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The employee may frequently be exposed to mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and various fumes or airborne particles. The environment may involve high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and loud noise levels. Job duties include regular sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and using a computer. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required, and frequent travel (up to 50%) is necessary for customer installations, troubleshooting, and on-site support. This position is fully remote, with a requirement for in-office or lab presence a few days each month. Skills and Experience: B.S. degree in a technical discipline is preferred. 3-5 years of technical product support or field service experience within the vacuum industry. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proficient in MS Office products. A positive customer-oriented attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment. Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team, adapting to changes as required. A self-starter with a strong work ethic. Compensation: Starting salary for this role varies according to the work location, with consideration given to qualifications. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $69,547 - $90,006.
