Description The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is excited to invite applications for a Senior Network Engineering Specialist to join our DISA Defense Red Switch Network team. This role supports an enterprise VoIP management system under the GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. We are looking for a highly skilled candidate with a robust background in Network Engineering to take charge of designing, documenting, testing, deploying, and maintaining IP network solutions in a dynamic enterprise environment. As part of this role, you will collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers and vendors, while primarily engaging with a team of subject matter experts. You'll be recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in IP Network technologies, ensuring optimal network performance, security, and scalability for both WAN and LAN infrastructures across various environments (DEV/TEST and Production). Your technical responsibilities will also include providing assistance, managing configurations, upgrading software, maintaining documentation, ensuring applicable STIGs are applied, conducting testing, recommending enhancements, and troubleshooting network component issues. Responsibilities: Work hand-in-hand with DRSN engineers and site personnel to coordinate deployments and maintenance actions. Assess system network requirements and provide appropriate technical recommendations. Demonstrate proficiency with Juniper networking devices to establish remote management connectivity, update operating systems, coordinate verification tests, configure alarms, and manage various OSI model layers. Assist Information Assurance (IA) personnel with network security and System Security Plan (SSP) maintenance, ensuring compliance with all IA requirements. Oversee installation testing and acceptance (IT&A) of network components, utilizing GUI/CLI or interface systems and facilitating remote tests with on-site engineering support. Monitor and optimize network performance continuously. Support deployments as required. Utilize expert knowledge of IP principles. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience; specific experience and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Experience in remotely configuring networking or transport devices. Capability to map IP addresses and subnets or to establish in-band/out-of-band management connections. Ability to interpret network topology diagrams and proposed configuration changes. Knowledge in configuring, deploying, and supporting HAIPE (KG-175D), especially with GD GemOne. Security+ certification. Must hold an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Current DoD 8750 certification at IAT Level II, Security +ce. Proficiency with Juniper IOS or other IP/transport-specific management tools (EMS) and standard practices. Basic Linux administration skills, including command line interface (CLI) and scripting proficiency. Desired Skills: Experience managing configurations with JunOS Space. Expertise in IP technologies including networking architectures, methodologies, and voice services. Proficiency with at least two of the following devices: SONUS SBC, Juniper MX5 routers, Juniper SRX firewalls, Juniper EX switches, SONUS SBCs, KG175. Familiarity with at least one of the following tools: SolarWinds or Junos Space. JNCIA or JNCIP certification. Proficiency with RADIUS, SNMP, and NTP protocols. General knowledge of TLS and PKI.
