As a Network Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building the routing and switching infrastructure needed for our expansive Service Provider network. You will be tasked with creating ground-up processes and finding innovative solutions for complex scenarios as part of a dynamic team deploying a network interfacing with 3,236 satellites. Your Responsibilities: Drive operational excellence by automating manual processes. Design efficient, scalable, and maintainable networks that align with customer needs and business goals. Select and test network equipment for new projects and regular upgrades. Integrate solutions seamlessly into existing physical and cloud-based networks. Establish and document standards for monitoring metrics, ticket management, performance dashboards, and incident responses. Mentor fellow engineers and collaborate across networking, systems development, and software teams. Provide essential support and incident responses as part of an on-call rotation. A Day in Your Life: As a Network Development Engineer in Kuiper Services, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of network equipment that supports broadband systems worldwide. Your focus will be on creating resilient, scalable designs while collaborating with teams to deliver efficient, low-latency, and high-throughput network functions. About Our Team: The Kuiper Network team is dedicated to connecting users around the globe with invaluable services. We not only build networks but also ensure that they connect customers to essential services. From the moment of activation, we focus on providing seamless services that cover address assignment, name resolution, and secure network functions tailored to Kuiper subscribers. Basic Qualifications: 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols. 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment. 1+ years of experience with automation scripting in Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in building, integrating, and maintaining systems for managing and monitoring both physical and cloud-based network devices. Our compensation reflects labor costs across various US markets, offering a salary range from $127,400 to $212,800 per year, depending on skills and experience.
