Senior Software Developer
to join our dynamic team dedicated to leading the Social Security Administration's (SSA) Digital Modernization Strategy. You will be paired with experienced team members for one-on-one mentorship, collaborative reviews, and coaching to ensure a successful onboarding experience. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, design, and implement next-generation deployment automation using best practices and latest technologies, including: Spring Framework (Boot, Cloud, Security, Data) DevOps (Jenkins, Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, SonarQube) Enterprise Integration (IBM Fuse, Apache Camel, and Spring Boot Routes) Provide expertise in areas such as Java application integration, service-oriented architectures, security, and user experience compliance. Debug and fix application defects across front-end, middleware, and database components. Communicate effectively with management, customers, and vendors. Complete additional duties as assigned. FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience. Additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree. 7+ years of modern software development experience with a strong understanding of software design and deployment. 4+ years in SOA/Microservice architecture/RESTful web services. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE Expertise with Angular or React. Strong proficiency in Python. Experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud, Security, Data). Solid understanding of Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programming. Experience with automated testing methodologies (TDD, BDD). Basic understanding of DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift). Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle) and SQL. HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns. Experience with IBM Fuse, Apache Camel, or Spring Boot routes. Cloud certifications (AWS, CKAD) are a plus. Experience with API development and monitoring tools. Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies or similar platforms. Familiarity with Kafka development and integration.
