A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee-owned consulting engineering firm, is eager to find a talented Survey Technician and GIS Analyst to enhance our dynamic team. This versatile role combines responsibilities in both surveying and geographic information systems (GIS), offering you the chance to engage in diverse and exciting projects.
As a key member of our team, you will:
Survey Technician Responsibilities:
Perform survey computations for traverse adjustments and data processing of topographic and boundary survey data.
Prepare finished drawings for topographic and boundary surveys.
Create easement and right-of-way drawings along with legal descriptions.
Compile As-Built survey drawings and conduct property, deed, and plat research.
Assist as needed under the guidance of the Licensed Surveyor.
GIS Analyst Responsibilities:
Conduct GIS activities including geo-referencing, spatial feature creation, and database development.
Support survey project managers through data analysis and mapping tasks.
Utilize CAD and GIS application software for drafting and design projects.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma is required; a 2- or 4-year degree in Surveying, Geography, or Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and ArcGIS software is essential; experience with MicroStation is a plus.
Strong ability to read and interpret property plats, maps, engineering, and architectural plans.
Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen ability to follow AMT CAD protocol.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; team-oriented mentality.
Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
