Principal Data Engineering Engineer

As part of our Data & Analytics (DNA) team, you'll help drive insightful, data-driven decisions crucial to the success of Anywhere Advisor and Anywhere Brand business. We are actively seeking a Principal Engineer to become a vital member of our Data Platform Team. In this influential role, you will: Design, implement, and manage cutting-edge data infrastructure. Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and various stakeholders to ensure the Data Platform is available, user-friendly, and reliable. Evaluate, select, and integrate advanced tools and frameworks to enhance our data platform capabilities. Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. Develop and oversee data infrastructure using technologies like AWS, Snowflake, and Kafka streaming platforms. Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the organization. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Implement comprehensive data security measures to safeguard sensitive information. Stay updated with industry trends to identify innovation opportunities within data capabilities. Skills and Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in data engineering principles and technologies. 10+ years in data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka, Kafka Connect, Airflow, and Snowflake. 5+ years working with AWS Data Services like DMS, EMR, Glue, Athena, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, and IAM. Proficiency with data quality assurance and reconciliation. Leadership experience managing production data platforms. Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, and SQL. In-depth knowledge of data governance and security best practices. Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), and Agile development methodologies. Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to different audiences.
