As a Lead Android Software Engineer, you will be a vital part of our Flagship Mobile Apps team, working on customer-facing applications that enhance the CVS shopping and pharmacy experience.
In this role, you will collaborate across teams, including design, product, and engineering, to develop high-quality Android applications. You will contribute to our architecture and mobile product strategy, helping elevate user experiences and drive product success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain complex Android code, focusing on innovative use-cases.
Work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to iterate on features and improve product offerings.
Enhance our CI/CD infrastructure and provide tooling support to fellow engineers.
Oversee the end-to-end application delivery process and manage production deployments in collaboration with required teams.
Monitor application performance and health, addressing production issues proactively.
Engage in troubleshooting activities for complex features and services, conducting root cause analysis.
Promote and advocate for best security practices within engineering teams.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers in design and development practices.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in Android mobile application design and development.
3+ years of experience with modern Android frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin.
Extensive experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Experience in influencing best practices for mobile Android development in large organizations.
Experience in utilizing accessibility standards and procedures.
Strong background in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous integration for mobile applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Backend for Frontend (BFF) architectures and GraphQL.
Advanced skills in reactive programming and building design systems.
Background in integrating with third-party SDKs and tools.
Experience handling authenticated sessions using OAuth.
Familiarity with Gradle and custom build systems for modularized apps.
Contributions to prominent customer-facing applications on the Apple Store.
