Join Project Kuiper, an initiative dedicated to launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally. As a Software Development Engineer in our Constellation Operations team, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and testing operational tools essential for executing the Kuiper mission.
Your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with engineering teams across ground and space systems to comprehend system functionalities and deliver integrated solutions that prepare for and execute mission objectives.
Enhancing the productivity of the Mission Operations team by identifying areas for improvement and initiating necessary changes.
Preparing for each launch and on-orbit demonstration, designing and conducting operational tests, and driving automation efforts with a focus on scalability.
Designing and implementing operational improvements and tooling alongside flight directors and Kuiper software teams.
Analyzing system data to pinpoint opportunities for further enhancements.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Deep knowledge of software engineering practices and the interaction between software and hardware systems.
Experience in driving design and operational execution in complex systems, with familiarity in space systems being a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years of experience in the design or architecture of new and existing systems.
Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, and operations.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
Experience in the Aerospace industry.
This position requires compliance with export control laws; therefore, candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as refugees or granted asylum.
The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year, depending on geographical location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Compensation packages may also include equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive benefits package.
