Injection Molding Set-up Specialist

TRC's client, a leading manufacturer of precision gears for the automotive industry, is seeking a hands-on Set-up Technician to join their dynamic production team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in keeping equipment running at peak performance. You'll be responsible for machine set-ups, mold and tooling changeovers, and troubleshooting production equipment to ensure optimal operation. Candidates should have strong mechanical skills, real-world experience on the production floor, and a proactive approach to quality, safety, and efficiency.
Direct Hire Mid-day Shift Pay Range $22-$25 (based on experience) Key Responsibilities
Perform mold/machine changeovers, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs. Set up injection molding machines and adjust process parameters. Troubleshoot equipment and ensure optimal production flow. Monitor 6-7 machines during off-shifts and respond to alarms. Use basic robot programming (e.g., teach pendants) and operate material handling equipment. Follow LOTO procedures and all safety regulations. Maintain clean work areas per 5S standards. Maintain accurate production and maintenance logs. Follow IATF 16949 and IQI procedures; escalate quality issues appropriately. Support peers with troubleshooting and knowledge sharing. Participate in training and cross-functional improvement efforts. Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management. Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Proficient in blueprint reading, using measurement tools, and documenting processes. Familiarity with thermoplastics and basic computer use. Exposure to automation and basic robotics preferred. Physical Requirements
Lift/carry up to 50 lbs; push/pull up to 35 lbs using equipment. Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing. Regular use of hands and fingers for controls and tools. Occasional sitting; frequent work from heights. Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of hands-on plastic injection molding experience required.
