SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Baraboo About the Role: As a Certified Nursing Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient conditions, and communicating effectively with healthcare team members to ensure the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities: Receive patient care assignments from the registered nurse and initiate tasks based on competency in nursing activities. Collect and document vital patient data during assessments and reassessments, contributing significantly to the patient's care plan. Relay important information through charting and communication within the healthcare team. Report any changes in patient conditions, address patient complaints, and meet educational needs of patients and their families. Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, hygiene, and mobility, ensuring their comfort and dignity. Prepare patients for discharge and provide support during dismissal. Maintain and stock supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and efficient patient care. Perform minor clerical duties, including answering calls and organizing medical records. Orient new patients and their families to the nursing unit, fostering a welcoming environment. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively, troubleshooting minor issues as they arise. Follow safety protocols diligently while providing care. Take on additional duties as required to enhance patient care. Qualifications: Proof of education required for licensing. No prior experience necessary. Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and walk for long periods. Ability to communicate effectively using hearing and speech. Perform frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Occasional lifting of patients and heavier objects (up to 50 lbs). Frequent data entry and use of equipment. Capable of occasional driving and recognizing odors. Required Certifications: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
