SENIOR PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERDutiesAssign, supervise and review the work of staff on an assigned dispatch shift in the absence of the Shift Supervisor. Prepare work schedules and assignments; maintain employee records and files; assist in preparing and conduction performance evaluations. answer and process emergency 911 calls; enter information regarding calls into the computer aided dispatch machinery; assign calls to appropriate personnel; prioritize calls and assign proper codes. Operate NCIC computer systems; review data to be entered into NCIC to ensure accuracy; enter and retrieve pertinent data and information; relay NCIC information to police officers such as drivers license and tag checks.Supervise and review operations of the 911, computer aided dispatch and radio systems; ensure calls are dispatched following established policies and procedure; take corrective action on improperly handled calls. Maintain the call status and location of all police units during an assigned shift; review information taken from caller to ensure the timely dispatch of calls on assigned shift. Receive, process and send information to Federal, State and local government agencies.
