Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN - Wound Clinic

Job OverviewFairview has an immediate opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Wound Clinic in Edina, MN This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening. The LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients, or individualized patient. The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. The LPN is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.Responsibilitiescare for simple and complex wounds and skin care injuries provide care of service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population servedAbility to use Hoyer lift, gait belt or slide board to transfer patients from their mobility device to exam chair or stretcher Knowledge of wound healing, knowledge of wound etiology, and knowledge of topical wound therapiesPerform daily cares such as pericare when appropriateKnowledge of current pressure ulcer practice guidelines, pressure ulcer etiology and treatment modalities Knowledge of current best practices in wound careKnowledge of cultural and age related issues for wound care patients Required QualificationsGraduate of an accredited LPN program is required.Current LPN LicenseBasic Life Support Certification is required.Preferred Qualificationsone to three years of wound care experienceAmbulatory Care Experience is preferred.At least 1 year of Clinical Experience is preferred.
