POSITION SUMMARY:To coordinate the scheduling activities of Manufacturing; to input orders onto the system; to coordinate with Purchasing on raw material requirements; to communicate with Customer Service regarding sales order activity; to maintain prescribed inventory levels with regards to reorder points and Master Production Schedule.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Promises new sales orders or changes in existing sales orders based on schedule fluctuations and current lead times;Creates work orders to support customer and forecasted demand and monitors work orders to completion;Coordinates the flow of raw materials through purchasing to ensure availability for manufacturing;Reviews manufacturing schedule, organizes work orders for maximum efficiency;Makes adjustments to schedules per customer demand and/or raw material availability;Communicates areas of concern to manufacturing including changes in manufacturing schedule;Communicates areas of concern to customer service including reasons why order will not ship on time;Reviews Open Sales Order report to assess status of open orders, identify orders not yet completed and advise customer service of potential delays based on acknowledged ship date;Utilizes Finite Scheduling software in building and managing production schedule;Participates or leads daily and periodic production meetings to review status of assets, utilization, efficiency, areas of concern at the various production facilities as well as address concerns of customer service and shipping;Reviews Re-Order Point (ROP) report and adds necessary orders to build and maintain target inventory;Reviews Master Production Reports and adds necessary orders to manufacturing schedule in order to maintain Safety stock and accommodate any current or upcoming orders;Analyzes utilization, efficiency and productivity data from a variety of sources; complies periodic reports to highlight areas of concern, respond to request for production and shipping performance data. Maintain knowledge of machine and plant capacity, standards and actual performance;Analyzes safety stock and reorder point calculations as well as MPS forecasts, identifies variances, recommends corrective action or solutions; communicates forecast variance concerns to sales;Manage the inventory levels and replenishment program of the remote 3PL warehouse;Maintain effective communication with plant production personnel and warehouse to resolve issuesOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time; Thorough knowledge of inventory procedures; Extensive knowledge of presses, molds, tools, frames and inserters;Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures;Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions;RequirementsEDUCATION AND TRAINING:Bachelor's degree in Operations, Packaging, or Production Management or related field; computer literate: Finite Scheduling Software; MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Teams, knowledge or previous experience with IQMS software a plus; preferred certifications: APICS (American Production Inventory Control Society) Certification ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:Inventory Management, Production Activity Control, JIT (Just In Time), Capacity Management, MPS (Master Planning) & MRP (Material Requirement Planning), superior organizational and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, multi-tasking, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, ability to prioritize tasksPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Lifting or Carrying (0-5 lbs typically 0-15% of the day)Simple Grasping (0-15%) - sorting, filingFine Manipulating (30-70%) - computer workEQUIPMENT USED:Personal computer, calculator, headset / phone systemCONTACTS:Plant Managers; Production Managers, Quality Assurance; Customer Service; Engineering; Production Planners; Vice President of Operations Support; Demand Planner; SalesforceSUPERVISION:Reports to Production and Inventory Control ManagerSalary Description $60-75K Annually
