Construction Manager The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team provides expertise in real estate transactions, business partnering, space & occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, and facility maintenance for Amazon's corporate office portfolio across multiple countries. We partner with suppliers to ensure quality, innovation, and operational excellence, utilizing customer feedback to improve and exceed employee expectations. GREF's Workplace Design and Construction team seeks a Construction Manager to oversee construction services for projects such as tenant improvements, new builds, expansions, and renovations of Amazon facilities. This role involves managing projects from design to operational turnover, requiring strategic and tactical operation, and acting as an ambassador, educator, analyst, solutions architect, and implementer. The Construction Manager will collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to set budgets and schedules, then drive project objectives, scope, space allocation, costs, prioritization, and sequencing within set parameters. Building strong, collaborative project teams is essential. The role also includes managing contractor performance to ensure timely completion, compliance with budgets, standards, and regulations. Key job responsibilities : Represent GREF to internal customers for space delivery. Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, design consultants, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure decisions align with Amazon's priorities. Develop and monitor project budgets, track costs, prepare forecasts, manage change orders, review and approve payments, and mitigate project risks. Ensure compliance with contracts and regulations, monitor safety standards, and resolve issues. Hold landlords accountable to lease terms, including delivery timing and condition. Ensure timely collection of tenant improvement allowances. Manage design and construction projects by developing strategies, allocating resources, and maintaining project timelines. Lead project meetings and reviews. Provide feedback on design guidelines and specifications for building systems. Guide construction activities, including contractor selection, negotiations, budget approvals, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor management. Evaluate and approve or reject design changes proposed by customers and designers.
