Responsibilities Staffing an established Protective Services dispatch center, managing telephone and radio communication, camera and alarm monitoring, handling 155 calls, and Computerized Aided Dispatch (CAD) entries. Controlling the communications and access control networks in Protective Services Headquarters. Triaging communications, documenting incidents, data entry, managing building access points, operating lost and found and patient valuables systems. Monitoring IP video cameras to support crime prevention efforts. Monitoring alarm systems and fire alarm systems. Operating radio dispatch and department telephone systems, answering emergency calls, and dispatching officers accordingly. Maintaining courteous communication at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of FTO program preferred. Statewide Emergency Telecommunications certification preferred. Minimum one year of experience in security, police, fire, EMS, or dispatch roles, including clerical duties and radio / telephone usage. Basic computer skills; experience with security systems is a plus. Licensure State of CT Guard Card preferred; must meet CT Department of Public Safety licensing requirements. Skills Ability to maintain accurate records, communicate diplomatically, monitor security systems, and operate digital radio systems. Proficient in decision-making, able to handle requests under duress, and familiar with hospital operations. Ability to sit for long periods.
