Senior Security Engineer - Northwest GuidePoint Security is growing and expanding, seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support our customers by providing architectural guidance and product recommendations. The Senior Security Engineer will be instrumental in deploying and operationalizing solutions for various customers throughout the region. This role involves 65% focus on architecting and implementing cybersecurity solutions and 35% on recommending the best technologies to address cybersecurity challenges.
Note:
This position requires candidates to be local to the Seattle, WA area.
Role and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout project lifecycles.
Design, implement, and operationalize security controls across a wide range of IT and enterprise systems.
Communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Prioritize and successfully deliver multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Create comprehensive business and technical collateral tailored for technical and managerial audiences.
Approximately 25% local travel in the Seattle area is required for meetings and events; the rest of the work can be done remotely.
Experience Required:
Security engineering experience in the Information Security industry or as a technical lead in an internal security program.
Experience with architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting of security technologies such as Network, Data Security, SIEM, Endpoint, etc.
Proficiency in multiple security technologies including Next-Gen Firewalls, DLP, SASE, NAC, PAM, EDR, NDR, SIEM, APPSEC, CWPP, CSPM, etc.
Knowledge of networking security concepts like routing, segmentation, zones, NAT, etc.
Deep proficiency with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
General networking and security troubleshooting skills.
Scripting and development skills (BASH, Perl, Python, PowerShell, Java) with strong regex knowledge.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and security best practices.
Understanding of advanced security concepts such as Defense in Depth and Zero Trust.
Experience in a consultative or professional services role.
Industry certifications from ISC2, SANS GIAC, or vendor-specific certifications are preferred.
