Director of Quality

We are conducting a confidential search for a Quality Director with a company that is a global supplier of industrial components to the aerospace, defense, and automotive markets. This is a direct-hire position and it is located around Torrance, CA. Key responsibilities will include: Provide leadership to the organization to help drive a proactive approach leading to improvements in design, manufacturing, suppliers and customers. Lead monthly management reviews for the site leadership team to help drive continuous improvement on top issues impacting performance. Actively facilitate improvement in new product development, continuous improvement activities & quality initiatives as well as customer interface and manufacturing processes to ensure quality and reliability requirements are well defined, understood, incorporated and met. Analyze customer returns and failure rates data in depth and provide trending analysis. Update Quality Metrics and review repair data for accuracy, determine root cause and CAPA (corrective and preventive actions) with a focus on systemic improvements. You will accomplish this by collaborating with Operations and Engineering, as needed, to determine root cause of both field and in-process failures. Expand and improve on existing business processes across multiple sites Identify and further develop KPI’s (key performance indicators) within the business to help drive improvements and Operational Excellence. Further enhance the organization through the use and implementation of various tools such as quality plans, process flows, FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis), and DOE (design of experiments). Drive and promote a culture of quality within the organization. Quality management system ownership, management of the Internal Quality System Audit Program, and conduct Quality System Management Reviews. Target Qualifications: ● Bachelors degree ● 5+ years experience as a Quality Manager/Director ● Experience in the aerospace and/or automotive industry is a plus ● Previous supervisory experience ● QMS experience with AS9100
