About gWorks:

gWorks builds software that helps small local governments work better. Our clients are public servants - city clerks, utility billing staff, public works teams, and county administrators - who keep their communities running. Their work is essential, but often constrained by outdated tools.

We fix that. Our cloud-based platform replaces legacy systems with simple, integrated software built specifically for small governments. We serve thousands of communities nationwide, streamlining operations, improving service delivery, and making day-to-day work more manageable.

We're consolidating several acquired products into one platform and guiding our clients through this transition. It's complex, important work - and we need a leader who can execute at a high level to help drive that transformation.

The Role:

You'll lead product development for an internal SaaS data transformation platform - a full ingestion, mapping, validation, and deployment pipeline built on AWS. You'll own every layer of it: schema design, transformation rules, internal tooling, versioning, auditability, and the long-term roadmap.

Your users aren't external clients-they're the internal Implementation, Engineering, and Support teams who rely on your platform to execute fast, accurate migrations. To succeed, you'll need a strong command of data architecture and the ability to think like both a systems engineer and a product strategist.

This is a platform enablement role. You're not building dashboards-you're building the system that powers our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Define a Scalable Platform Vision

Translate the broader gWorks product strategy into a clear, platform-level roadmap Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to build a standards-based transformation pipeline Champion internal tooling and schema governance as product priorities Own the Execution Engine

Break platform needs into scalable, testable epics (e.g., rollback flows, ingestion logic, validation layers) Write backlog-ready tickets that translate abstract data problems into concrete logic Prioritize reusable solutions that improve every future migration Empower Internal Teams

Build workflows and tools that allow non-engineers to confidently run migrations and validate output Eliminate manual bottlenecks with automation, audit trails, and intuitive design Partner closely with Implementation, Engineering, QA, and DevOps to align platform priorities with frontline needs Deliver Quality at Scale

Lead efforts to build in validation, versioning, observability, and rollback from the start Define KPIs for transformation performance, schema accuracy, and team enablement Ensure the system scales across clients, acquisitions, and future growth Why This Isn't a General PO Role

This role is:

Platform-focused - You're not building UI. You're owning the infrastructure behind every client migration Technically fluent - You'll own schema-level decisions and failure-mode triage Internally driven - Your success is measured by team enablement, data accuracy, and scalability-not feature velocity Mission-critical - This platform is the backbone of gWorks onboarding, growth, and acquisition integration If you've only owned customer-facing UIs or haven't worked closely with data pipelines or ETL architecture, this role likely isn't a match.
