Job Summary The Manufacturing Engineer 2 oversees activities related to planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products. This includes ensuring the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel to produce quality products at minimum costs. The ME2 is expected to develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, including estimating manufacturing costs, setting time standards, and recommending tooling and process requirements. They will act as a liaison with internal and external customers for new product releases, participate in personnel development, and provide high-level technical expertise in project planning, technical calculations, design, analysis, report writing, and presentations.

Job Core Responsibilities

Provides expertise in developing engineering solutions to improve manufacturing of Axillon products.

Improves current production processes using applicable methods and procedures.

Transfers new products into production with a "design for manufacturability" approach.

Participates in developing and maintaining process and design documentation.

Understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish work.

Solves problems in straightforward situations, analyzing solutions using technical experience and judgment.

Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Maintains regular, punctual attendance and may work variable schedules and additional hours as necessary.

Job Specifications Education:

B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience:

5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience; 2+ years with composite materials and processing techniques such as autoclave, RTM, and compression molding preferred.

Skills:

Experience with AS9100 quality management system.

Excellent knowledge of GD&T.

Self-starter with excellent time management skills.

Experience with marketing support, presentations, customer interface, and proposals.

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Data-driven decision-making skills.

Knowledge of machine shop practices and composite material testing.

Experience with inspection methods and data acquisition systems.

Organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.

Ability to manage multiple duties and adapt to changing demands.

Familiarity with processing techniques such as wet lay-up, mold and fixture design, and infusion.

Experience with NADCAP quality management system preferred.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX; experience with Minitab, ERP systems, and nesting software is a plus.

Ability to work a 9/80 schedule with flexibility for additional demands.

Salary range: $95K-$110K (applicable for California). Compensation depends on experience, qualifications, location, and market factors.
