Job Title: Principal, Business Development - Western Europe Job Location: Remote/Field (Available locations: Across Western Europe) Job Description: L3Harris Technologies’ Communications Systems “CS” sector is seeking a highly motivated Business Development professional with significant experience in designing and pursuing various tactical and strategic ISR and Link 16 Business Development opportunities, specifically targeted in Western Europe. The position will be a key stakeholder in the development and execution of L3Harris Broadband Communication Systems (BCS) technology, including Common Datalink (CDL) and Tactical Datalink (Link 16). Focus areas include Border & Maritime Security, C4ISR, and CJADC2. Essential Functions:
Identify, plan, and execute campaign strategies to create a permissive environment for capturing NATO and Western European opportunities. Ensure assigned regions meet Orders commitments to the BCS Sector. Perform market scanning to gather trends, customer needs, budget allocations, market size, and competitive dynamics to develop business plans and strategies. Develop short and long-range objectives aligned with organizational goals and advise higher management on progress and actions. Collaborate with regional sales teams to prospect, develop, and capture growth opportunities. Lead capture teams on key pursuits. Support go-to-market strategies, including appointing/renewing local partners and agreements. Ensure adherence to the Capture Management Process, hosting prospect meetings, tracking pursuits, and completing gate reviews. Coordinate BD activities with sales teams, including tradeshows, demonstrations, and customer visits. Act as SME to pitch BCS solutions at customer touchpoints. Provide market feedback to Product Management for future improvements. Develop localization strategies for the region. Perform analyses of product preferences, market potential, sales coverage, and trends, and prepare forecasts. Disseminate information regarding BD goals and objectives. Maintain key international business contacts. Travel internationally as required to support customer engagements. Qualifications:
Mastery-level knowledge in specific technical areas; considered an expert by peers. Bachelor's Degree + 12 years relevant experience, or Graduate Degree + 10 years, or 16 years relevant experience without degree. Deep knowledge of international defense & security requirements and acquisition processes. Understanding of maritime requirements, including manned and unmanned systems. Knowledge of current military hardware, software architecture initiatives, and industry trends. Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to develop and enhance customer relationships. Excellent communication skills for technical and executive audiences. Strong presentation, negotiation, collaboration, and leadership skills. Proficiency in a European second language.
