POSITION SUMMARY:
The Great Miami Valley YMCA is seeking an Executive Director for our Atrium Location. Under the direction of the District Executive Director and in alignment with the YMCA’s Christian mission, the Executive Director will oversee the administration and operation of the Atrium branch, which serves 1,400-1,500 family-focused membership units. Responsibilities include managing diverse programs such as group exercise, family programming, swim lessons, and youth sports, as well as facilities like a lap pool, therapy pool, whirlpool, spin studio, free weight area, cardio area, two basketball courts, a multipurpose court, and a full-day child care center for infants to pre-K. The role also involves leading the development of a new outdoor water park, set to open in 2025, ensuring all operations align with YMCA policies and strategic goals.

Essential Functions
Staff Supervision and Development: Supervises, trains, and evaluates key staff; assists in identifying and meeting developmental needs; maintains high staff morale and low turnover. Staff Recruitment: Fills staff vacancies in accordance with established Association guidelines. Staff Meetings and Professional Development: Plans regular staff meetings and professional development plans for all leadership team members; evaluates work performance and sets clear expectations to achieve goals. Budget and Financial Management: Responsible for annual budget development, monitoring, year-end forecasts, achieving a balanced budget, and maintaining systems of financial control, including revenues, expenses, and inventories. Branch Operations: Operates the branch in accordance with the association’s finance policy guidelines; develops and achieves facility membership targets; secures sufficient revenue to provide program services. Membership and Program Development: Develops and implements membership experience strategies to drive sales and retention; ensures programs comply with YMCA standards and strive for high quality. Marketing and Community Engagement: Works with the association marketing efforts to develop and implement branch marketing plans; promotes the YMCA’s message to the community. Facility Operations and Maintenance: Develops, operates, and monitors facilities to meet expanding needs; maintains safe, clean, and attractive facilities; develops plans to improve operational efficiencies. Program Safety and Supervision: Ensures that programs and supervision promote the safety and well-being of staff and members. Board and Committee Development: Develops and leads assigned branch boards and committees; provides leadership in volunteer development and recognition, emphasizing volunteer/staff teamwork. Acts as the Development Director of the branch recruiting and utilizing the volunteers to secure resources necessary to impact more families and individuals. Innovation and Program Expansion: Encourages new and creative methods for delivering the YMCA’s mission; expands programs into unserved and underserved areas. Association Duties

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management or related field preferred. High school diploma or the equivalent required. Experience: Three or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations. Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of Branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and have reliable transportation. Must be able to interpret, adopt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Must be creative and enthusiastic to staff, members, volunteers, and community partners and stakeholders. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Ability to maintain emotional control and composure in turbulent, challenging, and changing conditions. Must be a team player, dependable, detail-oriented, maintain high personal morale performing job functions, meet deadlines, and maintain prompt and regular attendance.
