Overview :
CBS Sports Digital is seeking a Technical Director for its digital sports media properties, including CBSSports.com, CBS Sports HQ, 247Sports, MaxPreps, and SportsLine, which reach over 70 million sports fans monthly across various devices. Our diverse and agile team collaborates closely with the business to shape our department.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of broadcast operations and production activities. The Technical Director will work with producers to plan newscasts and manage pre-production activities.
Responsibilities :
Set up and prepare the studio for each broadcast, including lighting and camera framing.
Check in guests and analysts via LiveU, Zoom, etc., including audio checks.
Direct, switch, and operate audio and cameras during broadcasts, which vary from 15-minute segments to full-hour shows on CBS Sports HQ & CBSSN.
Coordinate with Paramount Global entities to connect guests and analysts.
Be prepared for breaking news and postgame reactions at any time during shifts.
Collaborate with CBS Sports Broadcast to create compelling content for CBS Sports Digital platforms.
Experience
Basic Qualifications :
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the technical direction of television newscasts.
Additional Qualifications :
Willingness and ability to work under tight deadlines, including during breaking news.
Availability to work all shifts, including weekends, overnights, and holidays, with flexibility for additional hours on short notice.
Extensive knowledge of video switchers, graphics systems, server playout systems, audio consoles, and robotic camera systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications or equivalent preferred.
Experience with Ross products, including switchers, Inception, and Xpression, is encouraged.
