Nuclear Engineer
for a
12-month contract
position located in Minneapolis, MN. Nuclear Engineer Responsibilities :
Be part of the Secondary License Renewal (SLR) team, handling a significant number of items related to the Prairie Island application process and ongoing SLR projects for Monticello. Collaborate with external vendors like Westinghouse to verify adequacy, review site-specific procedures, and ensure requirements are incorporated into work documents. Ensure compliance and validation of vendor products, source information, and consult with subject matter experts at stations for document sourcing and reviews. Nuclear Engineer Requirements :
Experience with nuclear power systems and technology, beyond just holding an engineering degree. Understanding plant operations, materials of construction, and previous licensing experience are essential. 8-12 years of experience in nuclear energy, with knowledge of systems like Fire Protection. Proficiency with SAP, file sharing software, P6, and document review processes. Ability to navigate UKG / Workday platforms. Degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical). Understanding of program management and code compliance. SRO license / certification is required. Experience with ASME in-service testing and code compliance is a plus.
