POSITION SUMMARY:
Based in San Francisco and reporting to the Managing Director, Digital Investigations & Cyber Risk, the Analyst supports the firm’s work across comprehensive digital investigations, incident response, cybersecurity advisory, and criminal and civil litigation support to law firms, corporations, financial institutions, governments, and individuals virtually anywhere in the world. In this position, the Analyst will use a comprehensive understanding of digital forensics, incident response, and cybersecurity to research, identify, analyze and report on sources and findings. The Analyst will prepare client ready work product and develop recommendations that advance investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in data collections of relevant sources
Understanding of computer forensic principles, encompassing digital and mobile forensics, log analysis, cloud-based systems, database structures, querying languages, and widely used digital forensics tools.
Draft and present findings in written reports and verbal presentations to case managers and clients.
Complete assigned tasks within required timeframes to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Document results through graphic displays and reports that present clear visual representations of analytical information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge and proven experience with digital forensic standards and best practices, chain of custody procedures, evidence handling, collections and analysis.
Experience using a variety of forensic tools, including but not limited to, Magnet Axiom, Magnet VeraKey, Cellebrite Inseyets, Cellebrite Digital Collector and Inspector, Forensic Email Collector, Elcomsoft Phone Breaker, and Forensic Explorer.
Perform case intake duties, including but not limited to, chain of custody documentation, and evidence handling.
Conduct forensic collections and analysis based on case requests and prepare findings in written or verbal reports.
Strong understanding of operating systems, including but not limited to, Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and AndroidOS.
Strong analytical skills; able to present investigative results and sound recommendations.
Strong writing and presentation skills; ability to evaluate investigative findings and effectively communicating findings to clients via written and verbal reports.
Strong problem solver with the ability to offer creative solutions.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong technical aptitude; ability to learn new workflows.
High level of curiosity and tenacity to uncover critical information and intelligence.
Willingness to travel.
Flexible in response to changing priorities and scope of work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity).
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a professional services firm conducting digital forensic acquisitions and investigations.
CFCE, GCFE, GASF, GCFA or comparable certifications preferred.
