Overview The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the financial operations of the hotel by guiding and training management staff. The role focuses on enhancing profitability, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring internal controls are effective, complying with relevant regulations, and safeguarding owner and investor assets. Responsibilities Manage and communicate cash flow issues, including preparing monthly financial statements such as cash flow statements, receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms, and deposits. Monitor hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording in line with company guidelines. Oversee cash flow and operational forecasts. Create annual budgets and conduct monthly variance analyses, proposing practical improvements. Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and taxes, assisting management in enforcement. Analyze financial data to advise management on maintaining financial objectives. Adhere to standard accounting policies and internal controls. Review and approve balance sheet accounts, perform bank reconciliations, and general ledger reviews timely. Establish and audit internal controls related to purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, assets, payroll, and employee records. Coordinate and complete internal and external audits efficiently. Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff, including coaching and discipline. Ensure compliance with company standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations. Prepare and deliver financial reports as required, meeting deadlines. Weekly reports: A/R & A/P aging, flash reports, payroll, revenue updates. Monthly reports: Financial statements, forecasts, cash flow. Annual reports: Budgets, 5-year plans, capital plans. Interact regularly with the Executive Committee to keep operations on track. Monitor report deadlines and hotel daily operational reports. Execute special projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field, or a 4-year degree with a focus on accounting/finance and at least 2 years of experience, or a 2-year degree with at least 4 years of experience. Proficiency in Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, and hotel-specific systems. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Participate in hotel meetings and training, including M.O.D. coverage. Adhere to attendance and grooming standards. Ability to handle problems proactively and maintain confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned. Location
