What
we’re
looking for: Nexamp is looking to hire a
Senior Logistics Operations Manager
. In this role, you will be a
strategic and operational leader responsible for end-to-end
logistics
execution, warehouse yard strategy, and 3PL management. You will focus on ownership of
heavy equipment (
e.g.
energy storage,
transformers
etc.
),
inventory management, and transportation.
Working closely with the
l
ogistics
and supply chain leadership
, you will oversee inventory control, vendor shipments, and cost optimization strategies. This role may evolve into people leadership, making cross-functional collaboration and mentorship critical. We are accepting candidates across our hub offices of Boston, MA, Lawrence, MA, and Chicago, IL where you will be hybrid. You will report to the Manager, Logistics. What you’ll do: Oversee strategic planning and day-to-day execution of warehouse yard activities across all regions. Forecast and manage warehouse yard
capacity
to match current and future demand. Develop and
maintain
strong partnerships with 3PL providers; ensure contractual and performance SLAs are met. Establish and
maintain
SOPs for yard management, preventive maintenance tracking, and asset traceability. Ensure
accurate
inventory records in coordination with inventory management teams and ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite). Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of all inbound/outbound shipments, ensuring
timely
delivery to project sites. Streamline vendor shipment management through cross-functional coordination with Procurement, Project Management, and Field Ops teams. Recruit and manage carrier networks (including contract carriers) for project-specific needs. Develop and execute contingency and risk mitigation plans around
capacity
constraints, supplier delays, and site accessibility issues. Serve as the NetSuite
logistics
operations lead, ensuring workflows, customizations, and data hygiene support efficient
logistics
execution. Continuously
optimize
system usage and train team members on best practices for ERP-driven operations. Own training and upskilling
logistics
team members on ERP workflows, dashboards, and reporting tools. Negotiate and manage logistics-related contracts and partnerships. Monitor and approve freight, storage, and transport invoices; ensure alignment with budget and expectations. Use tools like Coupa for spend oversight and cost reduction analysis. May manage 1–3 direct reports (e.g.,
logistics
coordinators), fostering professional development and performance management. Serve as a key liaison between Logistics and other departments, ensuring real-time operational transparency and alignment. Act as an escalation path for
logistics
issues across the org; represent
logistics
in cross-functional planning forums. What you’ll bring: 7
+ years of experience with
3+ years of people management experience. Experience managing 3PL
and freight
carriers. Experience managing RFPs for Carriers & 3PLs. Experience with WMS systems. Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
