The Warren Alpert Medical School is a national leader in medical education and biomedical research. Brown University Health is comprised of three teaching hospitals (Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital and Bradley Hospital), as well as three community hospitals and Brown Health Medical Group, the largest multi-specialty practice in Rhode Island. In June 2024, Lifespan and Brown University announced a new affiliation agreement to further unite the two organizations around their goals for academic medicine and research. The candidate must possess a medical degree, be board certified in Internal Medicine, and have academic credentials suitable for appointment to the rank of full professor. Additionally, a distinguished record and accomplishment in scholarship, teaching, research, and clinical service is highly desirable.
