Job Description General Summary: The BCBA will provide support to patients and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. A BCBA will support other multidisciplinary team members and trainees in overseeing the implementation and documentation of Behavior Plans and programming. Essential Job Functions: Provide 1:1 assessments and care using evidenced based techniques based on functional assessment data to determine target/problem behaviors. Identify problem behaviors and develop individualized behavior/treatment plans with specific and measurable goals and strategies to teach or positively reinforce or shape age/developmentally appropriate behaviors and to reduce maladaptive behaviors, documenting daily. Implement behavior/treatment plans for all patients with a focus on identification of strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s) and increasing adaptive behaviors. Provide feedback and education on effective behavior strategies and ensure behavior plans are implemented consistently within the milieu and ensure that progress and modifications are made as indicated. Engage in collaboration with collateral sources (community agencies, ABA therapists, Social Workers, and medical providers). Provide consultation services to maintain ongoing communication with all other supports. Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for patients and their families, providing ongoing support and hands on training to caregivers as needed. Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis strategies providing ABA instruction re: implementation of ABA principles and methodology and behavior reduction strategies using class instruction and in-service training to milieu staff and trainees. Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, conduct functional assessments and analysis to identify antecedents, behavior, and consequences when appropriate. Create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for patients, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related human services field required with a successful completion of an internship and/or formal training in the analysis of behavior and instructional strategies training related to working with children and adolescents who have pervasive developmental disorders, their parents, and community agencies. Certified as a BCBA for a minimum of 2 years. Demonstrate competence in behavior management skill, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations. Ability to work with a variety of ages, functionality and with minimal direction. Remain current with best practices and literature, new research findings and resources in addition to continuing education to maintain BCBA certifications as indicated. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook systems Education Pay Range $76,960.00-$125,840.00 Salary At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
