Lyterian Therapeutics , we are committed to developing medicines for patients in need by co-opting physiologically-relevant protein homeostatic mechanisms to regulate genetically-validated targets. As Director of Medicinal Chemistry, you will work closely with the leadership team to define Lyterian’s chemistry strategy and build internal and external chemistry capabilities. You will leverage your extensive small molecule drug discovery experience to advance Lyterian’s internal pipeline toward the clinic. Drive the design and develop small molecule compounds, libraries, and probes based on rigorous data analysis and sound hypothesis Oversee the synthesis of small molecules, libraries, and probes Manage compound scale-up Oversee and manage CRO chemists Develop and contribute to company's intellectual property (IP) domain by way of patents and/or publications, Stay up-to-date with emerging scientific literature Collaborate and communicate across a diverse scientific team to successfully progress Lyterian goals Qualifications:

PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with 12+ years of industry experience in drug discovery Deep expertise in small molecule medicinal chemistry (structure-based and property-based drug design, synthetic organic chemistry, ADME/DMPK optimization) Track record of advancing small molecule medicinal chemistry programs leading to clinical candidates Experience with compound scale-up and IND enabling studies Experience with management of medicinal chemist(s), multi-disciplinary research teams, CROs and CMOs with ability to inspire all the above to give their best Understanding and utilization of computer aided drug design (CADD) Initiative and boldness to dive into a fast-paced new startup $210,000 - $240,000 a year

The expected base salary range for this role is $210,000 - $240,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there is often flexibility on job title and responsibilities. Compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
