Provide impeccable customer service.
Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to appropriate parties (U.S. Customs, agents, clients) in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to customs.
Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight.
Maintain relationships with brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure service exceeds customer requirements.
Resolve banking and letter of credit issues.
Advise customers on payment terms and obtain payments on delinquent accounts.
Complete accounting adjustments and resolve billing issues.
Accurately input or correct data in computer systems.
Perform root cause analysis as directed.
Manage post-entry activities and verify entries.
Access external client systems as needed.
Communicate with business partners via written, phone, or email.
Produce operational trend reports and keep partners informed of exceptions.
Handle pre-alerts and respond as per SOP.
Maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services.
Interact with customers, staff, and management at all levels.
Support account management activities and perform entry reconciliation.
Develop strong relationships with front-line personnel.
Support customs trade processes, including entry processing and exception resolution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED.
12 months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience.
Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work independently.
Detail-oriented with knowledge of HTS classification, harmonized tariff system, and U.S. Customs regulations.
Preferred Qualifications: Location: In-office role in East Boston, MA. 1st shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Compensation: $15.50 - $24.29 per hour. Paid training provided.
