Recipe & Content Developer
POSITION OVERVIEW
Christopher Kimball's Milk Street is looking for a culinary professional to join our culinary and multimedia team. In this position, you will develop, test and edit recipes for all of our platforms and create social media content.
This is a full-time position based out of our Boston, MA office. Candidates must be able to work in the office five days per week.
Passion for and knowledge of food and the culinary landscape is essential to this role.
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience with recipe development, but also must be comfortable on camera, or have experience creating recipe videos. Candidate should be a team player with an ability to take on new projects and run with them, and be excited to develop content for our brand.
This position will report to the Culinary Production Director for recipe development and will also work closely with the media production teams. RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE Developing, testing and writing recipes for our many cookbooks, magazine and digital platforms Collaborating with editorial, production and social media teams to create engaging content across platforms Assisting with script writing and research for video and television Developing and possibly hosting videos for our social media platforms SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to speak with authority on a variety of culinary topics and cooking techniques Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to meet many deadlines and keep up with fast-paced production schedules Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to think independently and creatively and contribute ideas Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously Strong computer skills EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Hold a professional culinary degree, or at least 4 years experience in a professional kitchen setting Have an extensive background in professional and home cooking and baking Well-versed in the inner workings of a professional kitchen, including sanitation, ingredient rotation, etc. Deep knowledge of food media, trends and ingredients A strong grasp of international cuisines Experience on camera is not a requirement, but candidates must be comfortable and excited to appear on screen regularly and represent the Milk Street brand Experience teaching cooking classes is a plus Existing videos of culinary content and/or a reel is a plus We encourage and welcome qualified people of all backgrounds and identities to apply.
