hands-on Principal Architect & Lead Engineer

to design, build, and scale a

cloud-native, multi-tenant Azure platform

for Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). This is a

working leader

role. You will architect enterprise-grade solutions, write production code, configure Azure services, and stand up healthcare integrations in the early phases. You will then grow and lead a team as the platform matures. This is not a maintenance role. We are building from the ground up, and you will own the

technical vision, architecture, and execution

for a platform that integrates with EMRs, clearinghouses, and payer systems to automate critical RCM workflows such as eligibility, claim submission, payment posting, and denial management. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Solution Design Architect the

Azure-based, cloud-native platform

with a secure, scalable, and modular design. Select appropriate Azure-native services including Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, API Management, Integration Accounts, Blob Storage, and App Insights. Define microservices and event-driven architectures for healthcare integrations. Ensure HIPAA, HITECH, and SOC 2 compliance in platform design. Hands-On Development (Initial Phase) Write production-grade backend code (Python preferred). Configure and deploy Azure services via Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform). Develop APIs, integration workflows, and data pipelines. Build healthcare data interfaces such as:

(270/271, 276/277, 278, 835, 837) HL7 v2.x FHIR APIs

Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring. Leadership & Team Building (Scaling Phase) Hire, mentor, and lead backend engineers, DevOps, and integration specialists. Set coding, security, and documentation standards. Work cross-functionally with product, RCM operations, and client onboarding teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables. Strategic Execution Own and evolve the technical roadmap in partnership with executive leadership. Evaluate emerging Azure and healthcare IT trends to drive platform innovation. Oversee vendor and partner integrations. Required Qualifications 10+ years in software development with 5+ years in Azure cloud architecture. Proven experience architecting and deploying enterprise SaaS platforms. Expertise in Azure-native services, microservices, and event-driven architectures. Proficiency in

Python

(preferred) or other enterprise backend languages. Strong DevOps skills including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code. Deep knowledge of healthcare integrations including ANSI X12 EDI, HL7, and FHIR. Understanding of RCM workflows such as eligibility, claims, payment posting, and denial management. Strong security and compliance knowledge including HIPAA and HITECH. Track record of hands-on leadership in a build-from-scratch environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in startup or high-growth tech environments. AI/ML experience in healthcare including OCR, NLP, and predictive analytics.
