Design and implement security solutions to harden Google's infrastructure against risks of unauthorized access from malicious insiders and external adversaries, especially in the age of AI. Provide security expertise on Authentication, Authorization, and Access Control to Google engineering and business teams. Drive security improvements for Google products and services. Build security tools and processes for infrastructure protection, monitoring, and remediation. Leverage recent advances in AI to transform Access Security Engineering. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience with security assessments, design reviews, or threat modeling. 10 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols. 10 years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages. 10 years of experience leading technical teams or risk analysis in enterprise environments. Experience in people management. Preferred Qualifications
Managing geographically distributed teams. Experience in infrastructure security, access security, or related projects. Experience with Google's internal infrastructure. Experience in Applied Machine Learning, Agentic AI, or Large Language Models. Excellent communication skills across all stakeholder levels. About the job

Security Engineers protect network boundaries, secure systems against attacks, and work with software engineers to identify and fix vulnerabilities. As a recognized expert in security domains, you will lead initiatives to improve security infrastructure across Google, especially in the context of AI transformation. You will oversee access paths to Google’s infrastructure, design scalable guardrails, and build tools to facilitate secure decision-making. You will manage sizable teams and have significant visibility across Google. The US base salary range for this position is $248,000-$349,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
