Summary The Construction Superintendent (CS) oversees daily construction activities on active projects, ensuring seamless and successful execution of project goals. The Superintendent collaborates with the project director and manager to develop strategies, schedules, and detailed plans to execute work safely and efficiently, meeting client, business, and project milestones. The Superintendent provides technical support to on-site trade personnel across disciplines, demonstrating proficiency in processes, methodologies, and site-specific work. This includes expertise in means & methods, trade coordination, complex installations, logistics, schedule management, safety, and quality assurance. The Superintendent must ensure installations conform to drawings and specifications and address any non-conformities. Leadership and management skills are essential. The Superintendent must communicate effectively to build consensus among team members and stakeholders. They are responsible for documenting daily activities, including photographs, reports, safety observations, and communications, to maintain an accurate record of project progress. The Superintendent reports directly to the Senior Construction Manager or Project Manager onsite, and ultimately to the Project Director. This is a full-time, exempt position requiring at least 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage all on-site construction functions according to established policies and procedures. Master the construction workflow and plan accordingly. Identify and mitigate risks that could impact project safety or schedule. Attend project meetings and provide constructability input. Review bid documents to understand project scope. Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings. Lead project kickoff meetings before subcontractor mobilization. Supervise safety with support from safety specialists. Manage project execution, including trade/vendor coordination, daily reports, scheduling, and updates. Drive field outcomes to meet milestones. Supervise site activities and coordinate among trades and stakeholders. Review and approve safety and work permits. Conduct quality control inspections. Coordinate with authorities for permits and sign-offs. Facilitate progress meetings. Utilize technology platforms like Procore, BlueBeam, MS Office, and others efficiently. Monitor performance and resolve issues. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements At least 8 years of construction management experience in heavy construction, preferably with a construction management or contracting firm. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus, but relevant experience may suffice. Knowledge of building codes (IBC, NEC, ASME, UMC, NFPA) is highly desirable. Trade certifications and licenses are advantageous. Proven safety record and safety program implementation experience. Completion of OSHA 30-hour training is desirable. Experience managing projects valued over $25 million is highly desirable. Training on equipment operation (scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.) is preferred. Proficiency with technology platforms and willingness to learn new tools. Competencies Collaborates:
