Assembly Operator

to operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. This position will be a

contract

and

on-site

for theweekend shift (Friday, Saturday & Sunday 7AM-7PM) in Arden, NC.

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.

What You'll Do Responsible for the safe operation of assigned high-speed large-scale automated assembly machines

Makes complex repairs and major adjustments to assembly equipment, including set-ups and changeovers

Performs quality checks per the quality inspection plan (QIP), documents specified measurements per print at required intervals

Performs daily/weekly/monthly preventive and routine machine maintenance

Performs tooling adjustment (e.g., sharpening/conditioning, checking height of spring-loaded pins (pin-ou), keying features, bend stations, insertion stations).

Replaces sensors, punches, dies, stock components, air cylinders, belts, etc.

Adjusts housing feed based on associated standards

Uses height indicator, ram optic, gauges and microscopic visual checks

Identifies and re-sets machine faults, clears jams, restarts production, removes and packages finished product

What You'll Need

Required:

2 years of experience

High School Diploma or GED Required

Safety shoes

Preferred:

Minimum one year manufacturing experience preferred

Experience with manufacturing fiber cables preferred

SAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferred

Working knowledge of hand tools and blueprint reading

Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, use hands for fine motor tasks such as handling or feeling objects, reach with arms and hands, and communicate effectively through speech and hearing

The role also requires the ability to handle small components under a microscope for prolonged durations

Regular physical demands include lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds routinely, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds

The pay range for this position is $19.37 per hour (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will include medical coverage as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
