Hill International is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Berkeley, California Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to develop design concepts and ensure functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions. Prepare design documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), tolerancing, assembly instructions, and engineering change notices (ECNs). Work closely with fabrication shops, vendors, and procurement to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality and schedule requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable safety, engineering, and quality standards and practices. Participate in design reviews and contribute to project planning and scheduling efforts. Associate’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Creo or SolidWorks). Solid understanding of materials, mechanical components, manufacturing methods, and fasteners. Experience creating detailed mechanical drawings for fabrication and assembly. Ability to interpret technical requirements and collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams. Excellent organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail. Must be willing to work full time on site in Berkeley, CA. The salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
