SUMMARY Provides direction and development to a broad team of skilled maintenance technicians and machinists, leading the implementation of continuous improvement principles. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible to maximize equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and empower frontline teams to take ownership of asset performance. Guides and directs overall safety, quality, and productivity for the department while simultaneously driving continuous improvement across all shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, morale, and continuous improvement to achieve positive results in all areas of responsibility Takes ownership of the manufacturing process in the machine shop; develops and communicates key performance indicators to achieve organizational objectives Champions TPM-driven continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of ownership, problem-solving, and team-driven innovation to eliminate losses and drive equipment effectiveness. Proactively reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to evaluate performance and to determine causes of operating or production issues or nonconformity with product specifications Establishes, communicates, and drives departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) through engagement of Manufacturing Supervisors and Team Members across all shifts ensuring understanding while quipping and empowering them with the tools and resources needed; establish clear accountability for the team’s work Develops and fosters cross-functional TPM teams to promote collaboration between Maintenance, Operations, and Quality, supporting shared responsibility for equipment care and driving plant-wide improvement initiatives. Leads the design and execution of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program to drive optimal equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and enhance asset performance predictability. Develops strong relations with raw material suppliers to provide a foundation for excellent customer responsiveness and quality Makes decisions about equipment utilization, maintenance, modification, and procurement Develops maintenance budgets for all areas of responsibility and provides oversight of cost Ensures that all maintenance projects, especially outage planning activities and other large-scale projects, are executed on time, within budget, and to business goals Reviews and establishes policies and budgets, and directs the placement of resources to achieve optimal performance Develops and implements short- and long-term maintenance strategy to enable operating efficiency Develops maintenance budgets for all areas of responsibility and provides oversight of expenses Ensures adherence to workforce utilization goals Implements cost control programs Establishes preventative maintenance policies that improve machine down time, speed, and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity Provides a vision and sets departmental goals and tactical plans for improvement Works with operating departments on prioritizing improvement opportunities Ensures SQF/food packaging safety compliance across all departments Interprets, adheres to, and enforces company policies and safety regulations to Team members, ensuring compliance Actively seeks out current industry trends and technology; partners with Production and Departmental Managers in the selection of new equipment; oversees new equipment installations Engages in active and continuous performance feedback for all team members; partner with The People Team to complete technical and professional development plans for team members, including succession plans, for those that have been identified as potential successors in any technical, apprentice or leadership role Creates clear expectations and accountability among all team members and partners with The People Team to communicate, enforce and carry out necessary disciplinary action for any performance, attendance, or code of conduct violation; identifies with and supports company leadership and company decisions and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures Oversees building renovation projects and/or additions Achieves desired results in Safety by demonstrating personal commitment and leading safety processes to sustain a safe work environment Implements and coordinates department safety education and processes in accordance with corporate best practices and policies

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises two (2) to six (6) supervisory Maintenance Team Members to include maintenance, facilities, and machine shop supervisors and two (2) to six (6) non-supervisory Maintenance Team Members to include a Maintenance Buyer Specialist and Maintenance Support Specialist. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of designated unit(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving issues in compliance with any applicable employment law guidelines and upon consultation with the General Manager, Plant Manager – Compress, Chief People Officer, Regional People Experience Manager, and/or People Business Partner if necessary. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Manufacturing, or Engineering or equivalent experience Minimum of five years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager in a manufacturing environment with deep knowledge of production machinery in the paper or folding carton industry Proven experience implementing and sustaining a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program in a manufacturing environment is required. Mechanically-oriented with experience in troubleshooting operational problems, and machinery malfunctions. Proficient in MS Office applications - Word, Outlook, and Excel Working knowledge of large-scale ERP systems preferred

TPM LEADERSHIP Lead the plant’s TPM journey by developing roadmaps, training plans, and pillar team structures. Coach and support cross-functional teams in TPM methodologies to build a proactive maintenance culture. Track and report TPM KPIs and adjust strategies to ensure alignment with site operational goals.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS Eighteen (18) years of age or older Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check Dependability Valid driver's license Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle Willingness to travel occasionally by air and land

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Excellent leadership and motivational skills Strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills and ability to effectively deliver, reinforce consistent messages and influence others via communication to achieve desired results at all levels of the organization Demonstrated understanding of TPM principles and their application in manufacturing. Experience driving engagement through TPM pillars such as Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, and Focused Improvement. Familiarity with TPM metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), MTTR, and MTBF. Excellent planning, organizational, time-management and prioritization skills Ability to work satisfactorily as a Team Member and communicate with all levels within the company Independent thinker with strong initiative to lead / manage multiple projects under minimal supervision Keen business acumen combined with strong fiscal awareness and understanding Ability to set, adjust and change daily priorities Ability to handle sudden changes in project/priority and multiple tasks simultaneously in a positive fashion Ability to manage conflict and resolve issues in the most positive fashion for all parties concerned Ability to identify problems or potential problems at both a strategic and functional level and/or make or recommend decisions to resolve the same Willingness to accept responsibility and take on new challenges Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on a customary and regular basis Adept at problem solving

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, understand, and communicate to others the meaning of complex documents including legal documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Ability to understand and speak clearly and communicate in English.
