Santa Monica office
is growing and seeking an Associate Attorney to join their Workers' Compensation and Insurance Defense team. Whether you're a rising litigator fresh out of law school or a seasoned WC defense attorney looking for meaningful cases, this firm offers a highly collaborative legal environment with mentorship, flexible work arrangements, and high-quality files from day one. Why This Role is Unique This is not a volume-heavy, bill-by-the-minute grind. You'll gain hands-on exposure to
strategic case development , direct client interaction, and robust mentorship from partners with decades of courtroom experience. The work is challenging, fast-paced, and rooted in real advocacy not just paperwork. What You'll Be Doing Case Management : Handle a mix of insurance defense and workers' comp files from inception through resolution
Client Interaction : Engage with corporate and institutional clients in strategy meetings, reporting, and resolution planning
Courtroom Exposure : Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations with increasing autonomy over time
Research & Drafting : Prepare motions, legal briefs, settlement evaluations, and other litigation documents
Mentorship/Training : Participate in structured legal training and receive ongoing feedback from top defense litigators
Ideal Candidate Profile Preferred Experience 5+ years of workers compensation or insurance defense litigation Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills Licensed and in good standing with the
California Bar Capable of managing deadlines and working both independently and collaboratively Familiarity with litigation technology and legal software tools Based within a
reasonable commute of the Santa Monica office
(up to 1 hour); hybrid schedules supported New Attorneys Welcome If you've
