Staff Accountant
for our
Finance team.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Hittle Landscaping. This role will assist with general ledger maintenance, fixed asset tracking, billing, payroll support, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong accounting fundamentals and ideally has experience in the construction, landscaping, or trade services industry.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare and post journal entries and perform monthly general ledger reconciliations
Maintain and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Assist with processing weekly payroll, including reconciliation and reporting
Manage Construction AIA and Work-in-Progress (WIP) billing processes
Generate customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable aging
Support accounts payable with coding and payment processing
Assist in month-end and year-end closings, including account analysis and financial reporting
Collaborate with division leaders to ensure accurate job costing and billing
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Help ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies
What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required) 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in construction, landscaping, or a related trade industry Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting procedures Experience with fixed assets, payroll, billing, and job costing Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday Saturday (when needed)
