About The Team
The Device Team at Tools for Humanity is responsible for all aspects of driving the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Physical Security, Field Operational Compliance, and Technical Support of our hardware devices reaching billions globally. We are a rapidly growing, cross-functional team partnering with industrial design, optics, software, market operations, and finance to define product requirements and execute development. About The Opportunity
Tools for Humanity seeks a creative mechanical engineer to support product development from research through manufacturing, aiming to design innovative, reliable, and manufacturable mechanical components and systems for high-quality, visually appealing products.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Design components and systems based on product requirements
  2. Manage full lifecycle product development (design, test, manufacture, implement)
  3. Collaborate with Industrial design, Electrical engineering, and Supply chain teams
  4. Create outline designs and evaluate theoretical concepts
  5. Build prototypes, conduct experiments, analyze data, interpret results
  6. Modify designs to meet requirements and resolve issues
  7. Evaluate product performance, reliability, and safety
  8. Work with Supply Chain/Production to improve manufacturability
  9. Material selection and cost estimation
  10. Prepare detailed product and component documentation

About You

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering
  • Experience with FEA, CFD, and PLM
  • Hands-on with 3D design tools (SolidWorks, PTC Creo)
  • Creative and analytical mindset
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science
  • Experience designing injection molded components
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in English, with strong written/verbal skills
  • Driven with a strong work ethic

  • Experience with electronic devices in tech industry

The estimated salary ranges from $150,000 to $250,000 plus incentives, based on skills and experience. Benefits include healthcare, dental, vision, mental health, 401(k), life insurance, flexible time off, commuter benefits, and professional development stipends.
