We are looking to bring on an experienced Planning & Inventory Management Analyst. This role will sit in either Irving, TX or Birmingham, AL.
Position Summary: The Planning & Inventory Management Analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels at customer locations through the execution of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product availability, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory, and enhancing collaboration between the company and its key customers. The Planning & Inventory Management Analyst will use demand forecasting, replenishment planning, and supply chain analytics to support revenue growth, improve operational efficiency, and uphold service-level agreements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Vendor Managed Inventory Planning & Execution
Manage end-to-end inventory planning for VMI customers, ensuring optimal inventory levels at external partner locations. Monitor and respond to real-time demand signals, inventory positions, and replenishment triggers. Maintain accurate VMI customer profiles, including lead times, min/max thresholds, EOQ, and safety stock levels. Collaborate with customers to ensure alignment on inventory strategy and replenishment cadence. Forecasting & Demand Analysis
Analyze historical consumption data and usage trends to develop rolling forecasts for VMI accounts. Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Operations teams to align forecasts with promotions, seasonality, and customer needs. Support product transitions, new item setups, and end-of-life strategies within customer locations. Reporting & Analytics
Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor VMI inventory performance (e.g., fill rates, turns, aging, days of supply). Provide regular reporting on inventory health and replenishment performance to both internal stakeholders and external VMI partners. Prepare root cause analysis on service failures, excess inventory, or delivery issues. Systems & Tools
Utilize planning and ERP tools (e.g., Streamline, Sage Intacct, Power BI) to generate inventory recommendations and execute replenishments. Interface with EDI or API platforms used for data exchange between company systems and customer inventory portals. Support systems integration and enhancements that improve data accuracy and visibility in the VMI process. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Success teams to resolve supply disruptions and coordinate replenishment priorities. Serve as a key point of contact for VMI customer support related to planning and inventory management issues. Facilitate communication of inventory plans and deviations to internal stakeholders and external customers. Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain analytics. Prior VMI experience is highly preferred but not required. APICS/CPIM or related supply chain certification is highly preferred but not required. Previous experience supporting DTC and B2B channels is preferred. Previous experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated inventory environments is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and modeling). Experience with ERP and planning systems (Streamline, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, etc.). Highly analytical with attention to detail and the ability to interpret large datasets. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with both internal teams and external partners. Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
