Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in architecting, automating, and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure and containerized application platforms in AWS. You will lead the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps toolchains, ensuring seamless software delivery and operational excellence. This role requires deep expertise in containerization technologies, particularly Docker and AWS ECS, while also fostering a forward-thinking approach toward Kubernetes (EKS) adoption. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, drive innovation, and ensure security and compliance in cloud environments. We want to hear from you today if you can: Lead the design, implementation, and management of AWS-based containerized platforms, focusing on Docker and AWS ECS, with an interest in fostering Kubernetes (EKS) adoption and best practices. Architect and automate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible, enabling scalable, repeatable, and secure cloud environments. Develop, maintain, and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/CloudBees CI, ensuring seamless build, test, and deployment automation. Drive GitOps best practices, helping to elevate and implement declarative infrastructure management through GitHub Enterprise and related workflows. Enhance DevOps toolchain management, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins/CloudBees CI, Artifactory, and Vault. Drive automation efforts to improve infrastructure efficiency, reduce operational overhead, and optimize cloud infrastructure costs. Collaborate with software engineers, security teams, and cloud architects to integrate DevOps best practices, cloud-native solutions, and container security. Implement security best practices in containerized applications, ensuring compliance with IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and HashiCorp Vault for secret management. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership, fostering a DevOps culture of automation, innovation, and continuous learning. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized environments using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for observability and performance tuning. Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously evaluating and adopting emerging DevOps and cloud-native technologies to enhance operational efficiency. The job can only be performed in the State location listed: Houston, TX, Jersey City, and Durham, NC What We Are Looking For

7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with a strong emphasis on AWS and containerized environments. Expert-level proficiency in Docker and AWS ECS (Elastic Container Service), with a strong understanding of container orchestration, networking, and security. Experience in managing and deploying containers on AWS Fargate, with an interest in evolving Kubernetes (EKS) expertise. Deep expertise in CI/CD automation, including Jenkins/CloudBees CI, and experience with enterprise DevOps pipelines. Strong GitOps knowledge, with the ability to elevate and implement best practices within GitHub Enterprise. Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible for cloud provisioning and configuration management. Proficiency in Linux administration, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security best practices. Extensive experience with DevOps security tools, including HashiCorp Vault for secret management and IAM for access control. Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry. Solid networking knowledge, including AWS VPC design, security groups, IAM policies, and load balancing. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues, ensuring high availability and reliability. Preferred Skills (Bonus Points!)

Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS + Azure). Experience implementing Kubernetes (EKS) workflows for future expansion. GitOps experience with tools like ArgoCD or Flux. AWS App Mesh, Istio, or Linkerd for microservices networking. Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway). For positions based in Jersey City, NJ the base salary range is $130,000 to $155,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
